Help Send Margaret to Broadway!

Hi everyone. If you have come across this page you probably know me. This is not something I am doing for myself but something I am doing for my girlfriend Margaret, or Mag to her friends.

I am going to be as brief as possible because I know everyone is pressed for time these days. The purpose of this site is to ask you to do me a favor. All I am asking for is a little bit of your time.

Meet Margaret:

Mag is a playwright and has been made a finalist in a competition to have a play produced for one night only on Broadway. The event is called the 24 Hour Plays. Writers, Directors and Actors come together for one night to produce an evening of Broadway Theater with the proceeds going to charity. The playwrights write a short play and then pass it off to the directors and actors who rehearse it and then perform it. All in 24 hours! The clock starts when the writers pen hits the paper and they crew has 24 hours to get the show ready for curtain! It is a very exciting night that usually includes many accomplished actors, playwrights and directors from the entertainment industry.

This year, however, the 24 Hour Plays are giving an opportunity to one emerging writer to get their big break and write a show on Broadway! Mag is one of 6 finalists for this honor. She has gotten this far on her own but now she needs your help.

I urge any of you who have ever had a dream to please help Margaret get to Broadway. All you have to do is register for a site and vote for Margaret. It takes 5 minutes but your vote could literally be one of the most important contributions to the career of a young and exciting new artist. She must receive the most votes to edge out the other finalists.

If you will help, please see below where I have outlined exactly how to register and vote for Margaret. I wanted to make this as easy as possible for you.

Instructions on how to Send Margaret to Broadway!

You can be a big part of helping Margaret get to Broadway! It is really easy and only takes 5 minutes. Mag needs the most votes to win the competition to beat out the other 5 finalists. Please take 5 minutes of your time, sign up for this site and vote for Margaret. I am going to walk you through how to do it!


Step 1.

Click this link:

Once the page loads you will see a picture of Mag on the left (I took it, isn't it great?) and in the middle of the page you will see a 1 page writing sample.

Move your mouse over the writing sample and you will see a pop up at the bottom. In the bottom right hand corner you will see the word vote lit up in green. Next to it is the number of votes Margaret has received. At the time of this writing it is 26 (not nearly enough).

It will look like this:

Unfortunately, you can't click on this yet because you have to register with the site first. It is really, super easy. Here is how you do it.

Step 2: Register real fast!

On the top right hand side of the page click "Join Talent House."

A page will pop up asking you to select if you are an artist or a supporter. Click I am a Supporter!

From here it is super easy. Just fill out anything with an asterick.

Make up a Username. It can be anything, it's not important.

Enter an email address. Enter one you don't use anymore if you like. This is also not important.

Make up a a password. Again anything. You will probably never log in again...unless you want to check Margaret's progress.

You can ignore the Birthday.

Enter the security code in the box.

Click the "terms and conditions box"

Click the Blue Box Below "terms and condidtions" to continue.

Another page pops up. All you have to do is enter your first and last name.

Almost done. a new page will pop up asking about social networking sites. You can ignore this. Just x out of it.

You should be taken back to Margaret's page. Refresh the web page to update it.

Step 3: Send Margaret to Broadway!

Move your mouse over the writing sample and click on vote in the lower right hand corner.

If all is worked you will see the number go up and you've done it!

If for some reason, after registering, you are not taken back to Margaret's page but instead find yourself at a home page for TalentHouse, all you have to do is search for "Margaret McCloskey" in the top right hand corner. This will take you back to her page.

What else can you do?

Send this to everyone you know. Please, please if you can help. Every theatre artist's dream is to someday make it to Broadway and I want to do everything in my power to make sure mage gets this show. Please take a little more time to send the link to this Blog to your friends. Explain to them what it is and urge them to follow the instructiosn here. If you are getting this 2nd hand and you don't know me I just want to assure you that this is all legit. It isn't a scam or anything. Mag really needs your vote.

Please help do something extaoridnary for a young artist.
